Deciding on an asset allocation is hard work. If you
want to find the most efficient portfolio using only a pencil and paper, you'd need
about three years to do it. Out of millions of possible combinations, only one is the
most efficient, and it's not easy to find.
Not surprisingly, computer-based optimization programs have traditionally been the province of large fund managers
or financial planners, and have not been available to retail investors at an
affordable price.
